The San Jacinto Day Celebration 2026 marks the 190th anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto, one of the most decisive military victories in North American history and the battle that secured Texas independence. Presented by the San Jacinto Museum and the Texas Historical Commission, this annual event takes place on the historic San Jacinto Battleground where the battle unfolded in April 1836.
Throughout the day, visitors can experience immersive living history as reenactors in period clothing recreate the events leading up to and including the Battle of San Jacinto and the surrender of General Santa Anna. Twice-daily battle reenactments bring the sounds and spectacle of musket fire, cannon blasts, and battlefield commands vividly to life.
Beyond the battlefield, the event explores the broader story of the Texas Revolution through interactive demonstrations, educational presentations, and hands-on activities for all ages. Designed to be engaging, informative, and family-friendly, the San Jacinto Day Celebration offers a meaningful and memorable way to connect with Texas history on the very ground where it was made.
