Join us at Union Mills for "Citizen Meets Soldier," a living history event commemorating the events of 1863 in Carroll County, Maryland. This event takes place in the wake of the Second Invasion of the North and allows visitors to walk in the footsteps of the citizens of Carroll County, who were divided in their loyalties, and the Union and Confederate soldiers who camped along Big Pipe Creek at Union Mills before the Battle of Gettysburg. The Union Mills Civil War Encampment celebrates and commemorates the excitement of the Civil War in Carroll County, Maryland and is hosted by the Union Mills Homestead Foundation, Inc. Experience history in a hands-on and immersive way at this unique event.
