1940s Weekend at Milton Keynes Museum

1940s Weekend at Milton Keynes Museum

Wolverton, UK

Step back into wartime Britain during this immersive 1940s Weekend, where everyday life of the Home Front is brought vividly to life. Across two days, visitors can explore the sights, sounds, and spirit of the 1940s through hands-on activities, reenactments, exhibitions, and vintage entertainment.

Meet Home Front reenactors, play traditional wartime games, and watch authentic 1940s films and Pathe-style newsreels. Wander through a recreated Street of Shops where cobblers, grocers, and butchers demonstrate rationing and daily life during the war years. Vintage stalls offer period clothing, accessories, and military items, while engines, agricultural machinery, wartime transport trucks, and railway exhibits highlight Britain’s industrial and transport history during WWII.

Live music and dance performances will complete the atmosphere, with performers to be announced closer to the event. Food and refreshments are available throughout the weekend, making it a full-day experience suitable for all ages.
