Renaissance events in America

The Renaissance is closely bound together with elitism, this was a mostly European cultural phenomenon. People of the Renaissance were most interested in classical schooling and its values.

Renaissance fairs usually take place in the United States. While in Europe reenactors strive to be as authentic as possible, in America fantasy is much welcomed. Most of the times American reenactment events will include some kind of old legend or fairy tale characters.

American events usually have a longer duration than their European counterpart, or are spread over several weekends and are mostly commercial in nature.
