Step into the past at Avoncroft Museum, the 'new home' of the International Living History Festival. This extraordinary event, set against the backdrop of the magnificent 12th Century Templar Farm in Essex, England, is the epicenter of time travel for reenactors and history enthusiasts across Europe.

What Awaits You

Prepare to be captivated by over 40 living history re-enactment groups that will transport you through the ages, from the Stone Age to the Cold War era and beyond. Avoncroft Museum will come to life, with the historic buildings serving as the backdrop for immersive experiences that dive deep into the past.

Explore a World of History

With over 300 reenactors from Pike and Shott Events, the 19-acre site will be transformed into a living time capsule, featuring more than 40 camps. This site is also home to 30 historical buildings and structures spanning 700 years, offering a unique opportunity to witness history firsthand.

Shop the Past

Indulge in historically inspired treasures at around 30 trader stalls, both inside and outside the event. From jewelry and hats to handmade tools, costumes, cloth, and historic pottery, you'll find a wide array of artifacts to cherish. Satisfy your taste for history with delicious chocolates from The Copper Pot and explore a medieval kitchen display. Mead enthusiasts will also find a variety of mead-makers among the traders.
